Itching to be Roadkill

Date June 30, 2005

There are some interesting characters that call my apartment complex home.

There’s the guy that lives next door who is afraid of electricity. There’s the guy who sits outside his apartment and rubs his man-boobs while watching guys ride skate boards in the parking lot (yes… he is VERY creepy). There’s the guy that always has his door open, his shirt off, and his light on (he spends a lot of time under his car, too… he’s just all-around strange).

Then there’s Biggie Opera. I call him Biggie because he’s quite large. I call him Opera because he’s always singing. Always. He always has headphones on and he’s always singing. And not to himself… he sings VERY loud. He was walking down the middle of the road the other day and I could hear him through my window and over the stereo in my car. Yes… he sings that loud.

In fact, he is so much like this kid that I had to re-watch this several times to make sure it wasn’t him. It’s not. At least, I don’t think it is. He even does the arm waving and overly exaggerated singing. But if you want an idea of what I see, just watch that video and then picture him walking down the street and across the parking lot.

Do you get it? I sure as hell don’t. I mean… the kid in that movie is at least in his own home. Biggie Opera isn’t. He’s out in public doing this. Don’t get me wrong… I’ll be first in line to say screw what other people think. Do your own thing and do it without consideration for what someone else might think about it.

But there’s an extreme to that… and I think Biggie Opera is pushing the limits of what can be done in public without judgement being passed by others. I have. My judgement: complete and total freak.

Sue me.

[…] Biggie Opera: he just can’t stop singing. Briefly mentioned here as well: anti-electricity guy, Manboob Molester, and the guy who’s always under his car. […]
