Karaoke Whoopsie
September 24, 2006
Since the weather was on the cool side today I opened the windows in my apartment to let some fresh air inside. Immediately I noticed loud music playing from the bar across the street. Funny thing is… the bar is closed. And it wasn’t Muzac or anything like that playing. It was someone singing karaoke. I headed out to the balcony to get a better view and to my extreme amusement, I saw one lone employee inside… playing with the karaoke machine.
Thing is… I don’t think he realized he’d turned the outside speakers on. They usually only use those speakers to call out names when tables or food is ready. But apparently they’re also hooked into the karaoke machine. I sat outside long enough to hear his stirring rendition of some country song I didn’t know and one Hootie & The Blowfish song.
And then I came back inside to laugh… and possibly puke.
Moral of the story: if you’re going to sneak into your place of employment and sing karaoke… make sure you don’t broadcast it to the entire neighborhood.

I always miss the good stuff - the guy vomiting alongside National after trying to out-”You’re MY bud” the other guy … this recent karaoke debacle.
I’m going to have to start hanging around here more often! :)

See… there’s a benefit to being a no life home body. Everyone should try it! Haha.
