Ice Storm Shmice Storm
January 14, 2007
If you’ve been watching the news lately you might have heard about the horrible weather that we’ve been having here in the Ozarks. Upwards of 70,000 people in the Springfield area are without power, myself included. I managed to find a friend who still has electricity for the time being. But with more bad weather on the way, there’s no telling how long it will last. The governor of Missouri has declared a state of emergency, so The National Guard is on its way to help out. So there’s some good news!
I’m taking advantage of the power to, among other things, take a shower and catch up on comments here.
I haven’t let the lack of power keep me from “writing on the blog”, though. I wrote a nice, long post by hand in the candle light last night that I’ll try to find a way to post sometime. It may be Wednesday before the power has been restored to everyone in the area. Coupled with my lack of internet access at the apartment, I have no way to know when that “sometime” will be.
Stay tuned for my hand-written and stunning account of a night of darkness in a distaster area.

Well I’ve got power again. But still no Internet access. So the hand-written blog posts will have to wait a little while longer.
By the way… I want to go on record as very much anti-ice. Unless it’s chilling my Mt. Dew, I never want to see ice again.
