Taxes Are For the Birds

I just got done filing my taxes for 2006. I hate taxes. Most people do. I only worked at my new job for about seven weeks during 2006. But apparently the tiny amount of money I made there was enough to push my yearly income over some threshold… because as soon as I added that information to my tax return, my refund dropped by over $150.
On top of that, I owe the State of Missouri $21. I know… $21 isn’t much. But that’s in addition to the hundreds of dollars I’d already paid. And the $160 I had to pay in property taxes on a car that I don’t even own yet. And the $50 vehicle registration. And the sales tax. And… and… and. I don’t even like the State of Missouri. Haven’t they taken enough from me already? $21 isn’t much. But it’s more than the state is worth.
Ok… I’m done griping for the night. I guess I should be thankful that I didn’t have to pay in to the federal government.
