Conservatism Gone Too Far

At least one conservative MP in Canada wants to “clean up the Internet” by 1) requiring ISPs to have licenses and deny service to Internet “offenders”, 2) by allowing the government to search “electronic data systems”, and 3) by granting the government the power to order certain content blocked. ISPs that fail to follow those orders will see their company’s executives behind bars. Stupid. Absolutely stupid. Hey… maybe next on the list he can ask Canada to become a Chinese territory!? They already block half of the Internet over there so I’m sure the Chinese government would be more than happy to take over daily operation of Canada.
