Stop Grabbing My Burrito!

Date January 29, 2008

I stopped by the local health food store, McDonald’s, on my way home from work last night. They’ve been hyping up their new breakfast burritos for weeks now. I haven’t had one myself because, frankly, they look disgusting. But my brother had one and said they were good. He also likes to eat squid, though… so it’s safe to assume that we have different tastes. I probably won’t be trying the new McDonald’s breakfast burrito anytime soon.

I did, however, get a drink last night. I was sitting on the floor of my bedroom eating, drinking, and watching Tivo last night… and I noticed the funniest marketing slogan I’ve seen in a while on my plastic McDonald’s cup:

Grab morning by the burrito

First of all… how exactly do you grab anything, let alone “morning”, by the burrito? Second of all… what exactly does that mean? I get the breakfast burrito reference. And I get that they’re basically saying ‘grab a breakfast burrito’. But what a funny way to say it! Haha.

Does this sound semi-sexual to anyone else? Am I just a perv? I felt the same way about a Taco Bell commercial several years ago that referred to some new food item’s “beefy inches”. Haha!

Seriously. Does anyone else find this funny? Or am I seriously just a dirty boy?

    Er… if I admit that those both sound semi-sexual to me does that make me a dirty girl? Is it bad if the phrase dirty girl makes me giggle? Hmm… I think I’ll stop while I’m ahead in this comment.

    @Mandy - Is that a black kettle I see?

    @laanba - There’s nothing wrong with being a dirty girl :P I think a little bit of dirt makes life interesting! Haha.
